Fast Food Chain in Australia to be World’s First to Roll Out New Binance Chain-Powered Point of Sale System

Starting this week, Australian fast food favourite Origin Kebabs has started accepting bitcoin payments at four Queensland stores with more stores across its chain to be rolled out soon.

The locations include Queensland University of Technology (QUT), Westfield Chermside, Broadbeach, and Eagleby.

Origin Kebabs chose to use bitcoin technology to establish an innovative position in the market and better serve the evolving needs of its customers.

Now anyone can buy kebabs, falafel, and more using bitcoin. Also accepted are other digital currencies like Binance Coin, Ethereum, and Litecoin.

Also integrated are Bitcoin Lightning Network Payments, enabling secure and ultra-fast transactions. TravelbyBit was the first company to incorporate Lightning payments at a network of point of sale merchants.

Australia: A Digital Currency Continent

In 2018, TravelbyBit gained support from Queensland Government to boost regional tourism.

Since then, Brisbane Airport, Queensland’s Town of 1770, and 300+ retail and dining merchants across Australia have begun using blockchain payment technology powered by TravelbyBit.

Lowering the bitcoin barrier to entry

World’s leading blockchain ecosystem Binance entered Australia in March with the launch of Binance Lite. With Binance Lite, customers can exchange small amounts of cash for bitcoin at over 1300 newsagencies, and spend right away at Origin Kebabs.

As part of its partnership with Binance, TravelbyBit integrated Binance Coin (BNB) payments at Origin Kebabs. Origin has also committed to be the first retail chain of stores to switch its BNB POS payments across to the new Binance chain which was rolled out earlier this week. With this much-awaited launch, BNB or Binance Coin has now successfully made its migration to BEP-2 from ERC-20 to become the Binance Chain’s native asset.

Origin Kebabs General Manager Burhan Göktas shared his excitement about the integration:

“After learning about crypto, I knew I had to make it a part of our business. It’s a no-brainer to sign up with TravelbyBit. I am very excited that Origin Kebabs is going to be the first to adopt BNB payments at point of sale, following the launch of the new Binance chain.”
